Where can you be of service to others? At work? At home? In your community?Take a look around you right now. Where are you? Do you see someone struggling? Is there an opportunity to do something nice for someone else? Perhaps you are alone in this moment. Is there an opportunity to do something nice for yourself right now?

Every day there is at least one moment we can make a choice to either be helpful to others or not. Are we blind to the suffering of others? Are we blind to our own suffering? Open your eyes. Look around. Observe the world around you. Notice where you can be of service.

It doesn't have to be a grand gesture. Sometimes making eye contact with another person and offering them a smile is enough to brighten their day. Pick up trash in your path along your way today. Hold the door for someone. Pay for the coffee for the person behind you, or buy a cup of coffee for the homeless man sitting outside the shop. Offer to babysit for a friend so she can run errands. Small acts of kindness go a long way.

There is so much sadness and suffering in the world. Today, choose to be of service. Notice how this affects your entire day.
