Bird Box Yoga Class
This blindfolded yoga class will help cultivate awareness of the body, breath, emotions, and mind.
When sight is removed from the practice, there is no choice but to turn inward and heighten your other senses.
Practicing yoga blindfolded helps you feel a pose from the inside out and move intuitively, keeping your focus on yourself.
Practicing with a blindfold also helps us to face our fears of exploring our own inner darkness.
You will get physically stronger because you are more consciously using your muscles so as to not lose your balance. You also get a window into your deeper, inner-most thoughts, which could be making your practice suffer.
And because you’re blindfolded, you’re not competing with anyone in class and really tuning into yourself without judgment.
Instead of removing the blindfold when you're lost or overwhelmed, you're invited to take Child’s Pose, Mountain Pose, or Savasana, and take 10 deep, calming breaths. You can always choose to opt out of any pose, but you will be encouraged to stay committed and keep the blindfold on throughout the practice.
Blindfolds will be provided, or you can bring your own. Bring a mat if you have one. We have a few to lend.
