What is Yoga?


You don't have to bend yourself into a pretzel to practice yoga. Although Yoga has been around for over 5,000 years, it came to the US in 1893. The first yoga studio in the US opened in 1948, just 72 years ago!


While we are familiar with yoga poses, yoga is much more than that. It encompasses breathing techniques, meditation, and living morally. It's not only a great workout, but it's effective in reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, increasing flexibility and strength, as well as boosting our self-image.
