Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga encourages stretching, mental centering and focused breathing for the expectant mother. Research suggests that prenatal yoga is safe and can have many benefits for pregnant women and their babies by improving sleep quality, reducing stress, increasing strength & endurance, and decreasing lower back pain.

This training is for yoga teachers who work with, or wish to work with, pregnant and post-natal women in a group class setting or privately. This training is also for yoga teachers who teach public group classes that may be attended by pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy.

You will learn how to adapt yoga to the needs of the pregnant woman at each stage of pregnancy.

Techniques include:
*alignment for the expectant mother
*appropriate yoga techniques for each trimester
*how to practice yoga techniques safely
*relaxation and stress management

This training will supply basic information and tools to work with the very special population of pregnant women who tend to show up in our group classes regularly.
